2 Bedroom self catering bungalow on the
picturesque Isle Of Wight with unspoilt sea views towards
the needles
Brambles Chine is part of the 40 acre Linstone Chine Holiday
Village where all the bungalows are privately owned. Number
228 is situated on the unspoilt, picturesque West Wight
coast, occupying a south facing, front line position with
lovely views over farmland, Tennyson Down, Colwell Bay and
"The Needles".
In front of the bungalow is a large grassed area leading to
a safe bathing beach, only 3 minutes walk away. Further
along the shore are a few souvenir shops, cafes, paddle
boats and windsurf hire. From Colwell Bay to Totland there
is a promenade walk to another beach, cafe and restaurant.
There are also 2 riding stables a few minutes walk away.
From the bungalow to Yarmouth Ferry Terminal, the distance
is 2 miles and to Freshwater village it is 1.5 miles where
there is a good selection of shops, take-away meals, cafes
and restaurants, plus the popular Leisure Centre,
skateboarding area, multi games area and
Swimming Pool.
The bungalow is well equipped, decorated and furnished to a
good standard. There is an open plan lounge, kitchen and
dining area from which can be seen views of the countryside
and sea. The kitchen is fitted with fridge, freezer, gas
hob, electric oven and microwave. A gas combination boiler
provides hot water and central heating if required. There is
a colour T.V, DVD/CD and a small hi-fi unit. The bathroom is
fully tiled with a washbasin, W.C, bath with shower over and
a shaving point. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedroom 2 has
pine bunk beds with the option of a 4'8" toddler bed or a
5'6" mattress. In the lounge there is a 4' click-clack sofa
bed. Bedding includes 2 double duvets, 3 single duvets,
blankets and pillows. Linen and duvet covers are not
provided. These may be hired from the site office if
required.
Also available are:- an iron, ironing board, rotary
clothesline, barbecue, picnic table and chairs, 2 relaxer
chairs, beach mats and wind break.
The site office block houses a small shop, laundry room with
2 washing machines and 2 dryers (coin operated) and 1
telephone kiosk (key hangs on notice board).
On site there is a large recreation area including a
football pitch, crazy golf, pitch and put and a childrens
play area.
Places of interest in the area include Yarmouth Harbour and
yachting Centre, the old town and castle, Alum Bay with its
coloured sands and chairlift, the Needles Pleasure Park,
Calbourne Mill and Chessell Pottery. From Freshwater Bay
over Tennyson Down is perhaps the finest picturesque walk of
all island walks. Afton Golf Club is nearby and Compton Bay,
a long, unspoilt beach, popular for swimming, is on the West
coast road, a few miles south of Freshwater Bay.
