Portsmouth is easily accessible from the
M27/M275 You have to make your way through Portsmouth itself
to find the Ferry Terminal, leave plenty of time for this
particularly at peak times. The ferry runs every 1/2 hour
almost 24/7 and crosses to Fishbourne which is on the North
side of the island just east of Cowes. Crossing time is
approximately 45 minutes. Use this crossing for the main
holiday areas on the east side such as Bembridge, Sandown

To get to Lymington you have to exit at Jct
1 of the M27 and drive through the New Forest. Allow an hour
to get through the New Forest during the summer weekends or
Bank Holiday weekends. The ferry runs every 1/2 hour to an
hour and the crossing time is approximately 35 minutes. Use
this crossing for the West side of the island.

To locate the ferry terminal you have to
drive through Southampton so allow some extra journey time
for this. The crossing is approximately 60 Minutes and takes
you to East Cowes this crossing is also suitable for the
main holiday areas on the east side such as Bembridge,
